Clark, the inventor of the modern forklift, turned 100 in 2017. The company celebrated its centenary by organising events such as large-scale celebrations at all of its facilities. At these celebrations, Clark also released details of its new S-Series, which will replace its older Gen2 C-Series, initially in the 2–3.5 t lifting capacity size class.
Clark Equipment Company, founded by Eugene Clark, developed the first forklift truck in 1917 in the US state of Michigan. The company’s ‘Tructractor’ unit went on to produce dozens of different forklift models, and Clark products received their greatest boost through fulfilling the requirements of the US army during WW1 and WW2. Currently, Clark is the world’s 10th largest forklift manufacturer.
